OUR STORY

Mt. Sinai Kids Academy (MSKA) is a Christian school established to cater the growing demands of the community for a high quality of teaching.

Mt. Sinai Kids Tutorial Center (as it was previously known), was established in 2005 as an experimental project of Teacher Susan, the owner of the school. She tested her method in teaching reading to young learners. When she proved that after just a few weeks of employing her method her learners could read phrases to sentences to paragraphs in short stories, she decided to secure permits and finally registered her company to what is now Mt. Sinai Kids Academy.

Our first school site was located at #191 Ticgahon Rd, Bankal, Lapu-Lapu City. Out of space, MSKA started in a garage with around 20 students. The following year, the number of students doubled prompting T. Susan to transform her house into a classroom. They rented a house for her family to stay in. Two years later, the population doubled forcing her to find a new location. The population continued to grow year after year and this compelled her to move to a new site where we are currently located. Today, around 250 students make the Mt. Sinai Brand famous.

HOW WE GOT OUR NAME

Mt. Sinai is a place in the Bible where Moses received the Ten Commandments from God which include instructions to worship only God, to honour parents and prohibitions against  theft, dishonesty, etc.

It is from there that Teacher Susan associated the name of the school--a place where the learners receive both academic and Biblical principles which they can use as tools as they grow and become part of the community.

OUR CLASSROOM TRADITION

Every day, students recite verses from the Bible which are then explained by their teachers  to educate them of the Biblical principles of  being "good boys and girls." The school's favorite verse is

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go; and when he is old he will not depart from it.
